Elizabeth (Lizzie) Pelz is a native of Houston, TX and graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in anthropology with a minor is Studio Art. She spent the summer of 2009 studying abroad in Ireland and would like to obtain more experiences abroad and utilize her anthropological skills by volunteering for the Peace Corps. Eventually, Lizzie would like to continue her studies at the graduate level by specializing in visual anthropology in which she would use film and photography to conduct ethnographic research. Her research and writing interests include anthropological topics, the use of photography and film to explore cultures, travel writing, street art and its spatial transition, at- risk populations and human trafficking. Lizzie currently writes for the Houston Culture Examiner.
